Common Questions
How much does a road test cost?
An automobile road test is $70.00 and a motorcycle road test is $50.00. If you need to rent a vehicle for an auto test, add $45.00. A re-test costs the same as the original test.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Call 1-866-433-1235 by 8:30 am on your test day and there is no charge. Cancellations after 8:30 am and no-shows forfeit the full test fee.
What is an incomplete test?
A test is marked incomplete when you do not bring the required documents, the vehicle does not pass the safety inspection, the vehicle breaks down, or you become too ill to finish. Incompletes cost $40.00. The rest of your fee is refunded, or applied to a future test if you reschedule.
How soon can I re-test if I do not pass?
State rules allow a re-test 24 hours after your original test. Schedule it online or by phone. The re-test fee matches the original test fee.
Does it matter who my driver education instructor was?
Yes. An examiner cannot test a student they taught in driver education. The registration form asks who your instructor was so we can schedule you with the right examiner.
Can a parent come with a teen driver?
Yes. A parent must accompany any test applicant under 18 years of age.
Where do I wait during the test?
The Three Rivers site has no indoor waiting area. Plan for the weather.
Ready to Register?
Registration takes about five minutes and you pay online.
